SERVICES
New Horizon Counseling is licensed by the State of Kentucky to conduct assessment,
education and outpatient services for clients convicted of DUI in this country.
This website is not intended to pressure you into signing with our agency. As a matter
of fact, we urge you not to make a hasty decision regarding such an important matter. The
court allows you ten (10) days to enroll with an agency for your assessment.
Before making such an important decision, you will most likely want to consider such things like:
cost, payment policy, reputation, schedule flexibility, etc. We offer quality, professional
services at reasonable prices. Our credentials are not limited to certifications and professional
licenses. We have over 30 years of experience that adds the dimensions of understanding and compassion of our clients.

DUI OFFENDERS PROGRAMS
On July 1, 1991, Kentucky's Law (KRS HB 11) changed to emphasize the importance of education, intervention,
and treatment. In 2000 Kentucky's DUI Laws again changed by lowering the BAC down to .08 & by
implementing harsher penalties. A range of program has been developed to assist DUI offenders.
A. ALCOHOL EVALUATION
Individuals found guilty of DUI offenses are now required to have a substance abuse evaluation. This
first step consists of a computerized inventory & a structured interview. Recommendations for any additional
services are based upon the evaluation's results.
B. PER-TREATMENT EDUCATION
Kentucky Alcohol and other Drug Education Program classes (20hr) offered over a 4 week period.
C. MULTIPLE DUI PROGRAM
This is a non-residential, non-medical program for repeat DUI offenders. Repeat offenders are
required by law to participate in out-patient for 1 year.
