Q. What do I have to do to get my license
back?
A. Defendants convicted of "DUI" must enroll
for an assessment of their
alcohol/substance use within ten (10) days of
conviction.
Q. What is an assessment?
A. An assessment consists of taking a
computerized test. This will be followed up by a
confidential interview. The test results and the
interview will basically determine what kind of
education or treatment you will receive.
Q. What will it cost me?
A. Costs vary depending upon such factors as number
of offenses within five years, length of
treatment/education, agency pricing, etc.,
Cost should be discussed with the assessing or
education/treatment agency before you commit to them.
Q. Can I change to another agency after my assessment?
A. Yes. Regulations state that a client may have the assigned
education/treatment with the agency of his/her choice.
Q. What happens if I don't complete the program?
A. You may be found in "contempt of court" which may result
in reinstatement of fines and jail time.
